Each member of the Fick Bros. team is committed to providing you with the best remodeling experience you have ever had….period. From our leadership team to our craftsman, we believe in doing a project right or not doing at all.
Leadership

Joseph A. Fick, Jr. is our Chairman. He is the oldest son of Joseph A. Fick, co-founder of the present company. Joe has been actively involved with Fick Bros. since he was in high school. He started out working summers and vacations, learning hands on from the ground up. Joe became the President of Fick Bros. when his father retired in 1978. Since then he has seen the company through many changes and developments from staff to relocation. He has effectively transitioned Fick Bros. from a commercial based company to a residential one. His dedication to continuing the family business is admirable and sets a great example for the entire company. It is Joe’s guidance which has successfully lead Fick Bros. to its current status as, “Baltimore’s Best Roofing Experience.”

J. Patrick Fick was named Company President in April 2010 and succeeds his father, Joseph A. Fick Jr., who served as the company President from 1978 to 2010 and his grandfather, Joseph A. Fick who was the company co-founder and president until his retirement in 1978. Patrick has worked in the family business since he was in high school, and like the rest of the Fick family has learned the business from the ground up. Patrick is a proud third generation owner and operator of the family business that has built a strong reputation in the Baltimore area on outstanding quality, professional workmanship, and customer service that is second to none. He has worked in all areas of the business over his career, starting on the roof, moving to sales and then Production Manager.
Patrick has been a critical part of Fick Bros. transition from a predominantly commercial roofing contractor in the 1990’s to the full service residential exterior remodeling company that exists today. As production manager, he built and trained a production team that delivered the consistent high quality and professionalism our customers have come to expect. Patrick is most proud of our current staff and the level of commitment, expertise and service they display everyday. He can honestly say “we have the best team in the business”. In 2003 Patrick’s management skills were recognized nationally when he received the Certified Contractors Network’s Production Manager of the Year Award. Patrick also developed an annual roof and exterior home maintenance program that has become the core of our business today.
As President, Patrick now oversees all three legs of the business; Sales, Production and Administration. He looks to utilize his leadership, energy, and passion to guide Fick Bros. to the next level of performance and continued growth. Patrick manages the everyday operations of the business with the goal of maintaining our status as “Baltimore’s Best Contracting Experience”.
Patrick graduated from Calvert Hall College High School and earned a degree in business from Mount St. Mary’s University, where he was the co-founder of the Men’s Lacrosse Alumni Association. Patrick was inducted into the Mount St. Mary’s Athletic Hall of Fame for Lacrosse in 2009. Patrick and his wife Bridget reside in Timonium with their three children Mackenzie, Riley and Brendan.

James J. Fick
As Vice President, James “Jamie” Fick heads up the commercial division for Fick Bros. With the Fick family’s long history of roofing many of Baltimore’s great institutions, Jamie continues to grow Fick Bros reputation for quality, excellence, and Baltimore’s Best Roofing Experience.
Jamie brings a wealth of industry experience to Fick Bros. Like his grandfather, father, uncle, and brother, Jamie learned the business from the ground up, working in the field, with “hands on” experience of all types of roofing applications including built up, single ply, shingles, slate, and sheet metal. Following college, Jamie spent several years as the Production Manager for Fick Bros. before engaging a career outside of the family business. After a successful venture including roof consulting, building product sales, and manufacturing, Jamie returned to Fick Brothers armed with knowledge to help grow the business.
Jamie is an alumnus of Calvert Hall College High School and Mount Saint Mary’s University. Jamie’s wife, Laurie, is the Human Resources Director at Boy’s Latin School. Jamie and Laurie live in Fellowship Forest with their three children. Nowadays, Jamie takes part in more tennis events than he does long runs.
Administration

Megan Fick Sheain
Being Joe Fick’s daughter, I grew up in the world of roofing! I climbed my first roof at a young age, and never looked back (or down!). I have worked at the Fick Bros. office during summer vacations and school breaks since I was in elementary school.
I started full time in 2007 as the Maintenance Department Manager. By visiting the occasional job site with my brother, Pat Fick, I learned first-hand about the mechanics of the roof. I began developing the detailed Annual Maintenance Report and I contacted customers to encourage them to join the preventative program and to spread the news to their neighbors. The program continues to improve offering more and more services, and Fick Bros. now has the best exterior home maintenance program in the area.
After two years as the maintenance manager, I switched roles to become the Administration Department Manager at Fick Bros. I am now responsible for all administration department functions including the processing of accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and human resources.
I handle the company’s Health Insurance, Supplemental Insurance, cell phone plan, and all other benefits that employees at Fick Bros. receive, including the Fick Bros Profit Sharing Plan and 401K Plan. I maintain all workman’s comp claims, unemployment claims, auto, and general liability claims. I keep track of fuel and truck maintenance for Fick Bros. fleet of trucks. I also manage office supplies, equipment and IT issues.
I ensure all of our employees are getting the best benefits, and are taking full advantage of all Fick Bros. has to offer them. I strive to make sure our employees cannot imagine a better place to work!
I plan and organize all office and company meetings and arrange company banquets and outings. We love to encourage team morale by going to Orioles games, Ravens games and other activities together. We have cookouts and picnics in the summer where the employees can bring their families for some fun in the sun. Each year we have an awards ceremony called, “The FB’s.” Awards include, Foreman of the Year, Best Kept Truck, Employee of the Year, and many others.
After graduating from Mount Saint Mary’s University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business in May of 2006, I moved to Canton. I enjoy competing in triathlons, running, and going to the beach with my friends.

Ashley Garrett
Before I came to work for Fick Bros. in 2021, I worked for an attorney where I was a paralegal for over 16 years. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my full house, which includes my husband, 4 children, 4 cats and our dog. We love traveling, camping, white water rafting and many more outside adventures. I love helping people and knowing that I made a positive difference in their day!
Production

Dan Williams
Dan Williams is our Production Manager. If you have a Production related question or concern, Dan is the man!
While keeping the crews scheduled and organized, Dan also strives to maintain the customers complete satisfaction by upholding Fick Bros Roofing and Exterior Remodeling Company’s high quality standards.
Dan has over 20 years of experience in the roofing industry and has a strong background in sheet metal as well as historic renovation. Throughout his childhood and adult education, he has always had an interest in the artistic field as well as construction and decided to put those skills to work on the roof. Crafting and installing copper roofs, flashings and drainage systems has been his way of making “masterpieces”. It even earned him the 2008-2009 Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress Most Valuable Player Award for many notable roofing projects he has worked on or supervised throughout his career.
In his spare time, Dan enjoys relaxing at his property in Carroll County and spending time with his family. Between his daughter’s softball and cheerleading games and practices, yard work and tending to the pets, there is always something to do that doesn’t involve climbing a ladder.

Sales

Shannon Mitchell
Often I am the first person people talk to when calling in, and I love knowing that I’ve played a part in helping to solve their problem. I got my first office job, working part-time while attending Western High School, and began full-time administrative work after graduating from UMBC. I have been with Fick Bros. since 2008, and it is the best place I have ever worked! I live in Baltimore County with my daughter and our min-pin, Dude. I volunteer to help at school functions whenever I can, and I also love bringing my daughter to work with me now and then. In my spare time I enjoy reading, singing, and traveling—all of which are better done with family and friends!

He strives to not just solve his customers’ problems, but to do so in a way that makes sense based on the situation. It is this philosophy that not only makes for satisfied customers, but customers that are loyal and look no where else other than Fick Bros. He completed several full property renovations as his own general contractor while overseeing contractual professionals for HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
