Department: Production

Title: Production Manager

Reports to: Executive Vice President

Supports: Field, Administration, Sales

Position under direct supervision: Field Supervisor, Foreman, Mechanics, and Apprentices

Job Summary

Functional Responsibility

Qualifications

  1. Qualified as Working Foreman or Project Manager.
  2. Successfully demonstrates good communication and negotiating skills.
  3. Leadership skills.
  4. Ability to make decisions.
  5. Ability to motivate others and him/her self.
  6. Organizational skills. (set priorities, follow up)
  7. Foresight to avoid problems before they occur.
  8. Computer skills.

Functional Responsibilities:

  1. Manpower development
    1. Hires and develop field personnel.
    2. Schedules and conducts yearly reviews.
    3. Coordinates training requirements for field personnel.
    4. Termination, within company policy and guidelines.
  2. Job scheduling
    1. Build and maintain the "Production Board"
    2. Pre-Construction planning
    3. Orders materials and schedules it for delivery
    4. Schedules field personnel
    5. Schedules equipment (dumpsters, etc.)
    6. Coordinates job with foreman
    7. Approves field payroll
    8. Manages job through successful and profitable completion within the job budget.
  3. Payment
    1. Assists in prompt receipt of payments made by owner
    2. Develops strategy for obtaining change orders
    3. Assists in pricing and specifications of change order
    4. Sells change order
  4. Job safety
    1. Assures job is properly posted with the required notices.
    2. Assures foreman adhere to safety guidelines.
    3. Assures each job is planned to minimize risk.
    4. Assures all safety equipment is at the job site and in working order.
    5. Locates nearest emergency telephone and emergency services.
    6. Reports any incidents immediately to his superior.
    7. Responsible to have foreman file incident report.
  5. Quality/Productivity
    1. Knows manufacturer's specifications
    2. Knows job specifications
    3. Knows performance standards established for the job
    4. Assures job progresses according to plan
    5. Maintains good working relationship with the owner and manufacturer
    6. Improves quality by suggesting profitable change orders
    7. Maintains good communication with the owner to inform them when job is scheduled, ordered, started, completed, or delayed.
    8. Other related duties as required (Management reserves the right to add duties at any time)
